0. Anniversary, Einstürzende Neubauten's first regular album in twelve years! Blixa Bargeld & Co. release "Alles in Allem" on Potomak

All in All contains ten new pieces that thematically revolve mainly around Berlin: Blixa Bargeld wanders through memories and dreams, assembles fragments. The texts lay tracks into the past, lead into his own work, tie in with earlier texts and transfer them into the future. But it is always also about the present of the German capital, as in Welcome To Berlin, which takes a cynical look at recent developments in the metropolis.
Firmly anchored in the here and now, the music of Einstürzende Neubauten is also meant to sound: The obligatory trip to the junkyard to find the sound was omitted this time. Cash: "They don't let you go there anymore - if only for insurance reasons." So the five musicians looked for other sources of sound and inspiration. For Taschen, a simple travel bag was used, which they filled with rags; for the title track Alles in Allem, on the other hand, Bargeld walked along a corridor outside the studio and described the associations that the chipped coating on the floor evoked in him.
The first track Ten Grand Goldie, in particular, is held up as an example of Neubauten's continuing innovative power: The singer contacted supporters of the group, inviting them to become part of the creative process. Their spontaneous answers to Bargeld's questions formed fragments of the song lyrics. In general, some fans were permanently involved in the creation process of the album, were connected via live webcasts, interpreted and discussed the songs among themselves and with the band.
