This extremely rare album, attributed to the non-existent La Sonora MAG, was actually recorded by Peruvian percussionist Ñiko Estrada and his sonora. It contains hits from the repertoire of the most famous Cuban and Boriquan orchestras: guarachas, boleros and an instrumental tropical beguine. It features three great vocalists: Manolo Castro, Rafael "Chivirico" Dávila and Vicky Zamora, whose version of "Pepito" became one of the most popular songs of the year in Peru.

Re-released for the first time. 180g vinyl pressing. DESCRIPTION/DETAILS: This album contains hits from the repertoire of the most famous Cuban and Borizan orchestras of the late 50s, performed by the young Peruvian percussionist Ñiko Estrada and his sonora. Due to contractual restrictions, however, the album was released under the fictitious name Sonora MAG. Fascinated by the music of the Cuban orchestras that were broadcast on the radio and the colorful and extravagant outfits they wore when they played in Lima, Ñiko Estrada named his first band Los chicos de Cuba (The Cuban Boys). in 1958, he put together his own group sonora, signed to the local label Smith and recorded a series of hits. At the same time, he agreed to anonymously record more music for MAG, Manuel Guerrero's Peruvian company. An imaginary Sonora MAG was born_ "El Negro Bembón con la Sonora MAG" contains, with the sole exception of the instrumental "Té Para Dos", mainly vocal pieces - guarachas and boleros - by the likes of Manolo Castro, Rafael "Chivirico" Dávila and Vicky Zamora, with her version of "Pepito" being the album's biggest hit. This album is currently almost impossible to find in its original edition, so we are pleased to present the first re-release of "El Negro Bembón con la Sonora MAG" in the original artwork.
