Humbug
Confident and stronger than ever: the indie rock stars' third album.
After their last album "Favourite Worst Nightmare" was released in 2007, Nick, Matt, Jamie and Alex used the break from writing and recording to thoroughly enjoy life as young and, above all, successful twentysomethings. The English indie rock heroes had all kinds of plans for their third album. Not only did they design the cover themselves and drummer Matt created a new logo. The band also presents itself confidently and stronger than ever in the ten songs. "Humbug" (named after the slogan of the Dickens character Ebenezer Scrooges from "A Christmas Story") shows the band's completely new approach to song selection and album structure. "There's something about this album," says vocalist Alex Turner, "that captivated us all. It just feels completely like our thing."
