"South Carolina" is a deeply soulful and socially conscious journey through themes of identity, heritage, and resistance. The collaborative genius of Gil Scott-Heron’s poignant spoken-word lyricism and Brian Jackson’s jazz-infused arrangements creates a seamless blend of poetry and melody. The album invites listeners to reflect on the historical weight of the South, while still providing moments of beauty, hope, and musical innovation.
