Ennio Morricone
Gli Occhi Freddi Della Paura
"The Cold Eyes of Fear" is a 1971 film by Enzo G. Castellari (director of "Queldict Cured Armored Train" among the absolute favorites of Quentin Tarantino) with the participation of an international cast of actors such as Frank Wolff, Fernando Rey, Julian Mateos and Karin Schubert. Set almost entirely in a mansion where a kidnapping takes place, the film makes use of one of the darkest and most eerie soundtracks signed by Ennio Morricone, in which melody is practically absent, in favor of icy and claustrophobic atmospheres. As performers, directed by Bruno Nicolai, we find an ensemble to which Morricone himself contributed, the New Consonance Improvisation Group, perfect in the interpretation of dissonant and avant-garde sounds.
