Although "Hunky Dory" is widely regarded today as one of the best albums of all time, it initially failed to make an impact on the album charts when it was released in 1971. It wasn't until August 1973 that it finally reached the Top 5 in the UK, fueled by a re-issue of the single "Life On Mars?" which was re-released after Bowie's breakthrough with the album "The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars" (1972).
Now Bowie's six studio albums from 1969-1973 are being released individually on 180g vinyl, which were already featured in the comprehensive David Bowie Five Years 1969-1973 box set released in September 2015
For the albums Space Oddity, The Man Who Sold The World, Hunky Dory and PinUps! the 2015 remastered version was used, while for The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust And The Spiders From Mars the 2012 remaster and for Aladdin Sane the 2013 remastered version were used.
