The band King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard was founded in Melbourne, Australia, in 2010. the psychedelic rockers released their debut album in 2012 and have released 17 further studio albums to date, which have earned them a real standing in the scene.

in 2021, the band is now taking a look back, way back, to their beginnings. With "Teenage Gizzard", they present a collection of recordings from their early phase between 2010 and 2011, which were made before their debut album "12 Bar Bruise" and their first record deal.

There are a total of ten songs on "Teenage Gizzard", which were either self-distributed or not released at all at the time. Included are three early singles, two early B-sides, four-track recordings from the band's first unofficial EP, "Angelsea", as well as a previously unreleased track. Tracks one to eight on were recorded sometime in 2010 in Angelsea, Victoria, tracks nine and ten sometime in 2011 in Carlton, Victoria, Australia.
