The album features recordings from various performances from 1977 to 1981, showcasing the band's development from a four-piece "New Wave" outfit to an expanded lineup featuring funk and world music influences. The first disc features performances by the original quartet, while the second disc features recordings from the expanded lineup. The album includes many of the band's early hits, such as "Psycho Killer," "Take Me to the River," and "Life During Wartime," as well as several previously unreleased songs.
