"A Broken Frame" is Depeche Mode's second album. All of the songs were written by Dave Gore, with Dave Gahan singing on eight of them. The album made it to number 56 in the charts in Germany, but went much higher in the UK, reaching number 8. Fans now consider the album to be significantly undervalued.
