Already with their album debut, an inspired reinterpretation of the rock classic "Dark Side Of The Moon" in dub / reggae garb, the New York-based Easy Star All-Stars managed an international smash hit right off the bat that thrilled genre-spanning fans and critics alike, lingered for a phenomenal seven years in the American Billboard Reggae charts for a phenomenal seven years and has sold more than a quarter of a million copies worldwide to date. The musicians translate(ed) these immortal tunes from the 1973 concept album by the British formation Pink Floyd, which set new musical standards at the time, into the language of Jamaican riddims with great respect for the original and make them their own with playful aplomb. The list of guest singers involved is also impressive, with popular reggae greats such as Frankie Paul, Corey Harris, Dr. Isreal, The Meditations, Ranking Joe, Sluggy Ranks, Gary "Nesta" Pine, Dollarman and Kirsty Rock.
