2008 is the "Year of the girls" - Emiliana Torrini will underline this and find her place in our hearts alongside Duffy, Adele, Alison, Estelle and Amy. After her debut in 1999, it took six years for the follow-up "Fisherman's Woman" to appear. It took her only half as long to polish the songs for "Me And Armini", which nevertheless turned out to be a masterpiece.

Dan Carey (known as the producer of Hot Chip and Franz Ferdinand), with whom Emiliana had previously worked successfully, was once again involved in the recordings. With "Me And Armini", the two have succeeded in creating an ambitious and pop-oriented album that ranges from summery reggae sounds (title track) to melancholy reveries and pure radio numbers.
