With the 2001 release of Last Fair Deal Gone Down, Katatonia expanded their sound and created one of the most celebrated metal albums of the year.

The album contains 11 tracks full of emotion and haunting social commentary, including the singles "Teargas" and "Tonight's Music", and is characterized by Katatonia's unique brand of gothic metal.

Following on from the previous album "Tonight's Decision", the album shows a new maturity and accessibility that was only hinted at on the previous albums. As always, Jonas' melancholic vocals are supported by Anders' inventive guitar work, creating a strong and captivating atmosphere.
