On this limited edition vinyl, Lang Lang presents Saint-Saëns' Carnival of the Animals. The humorous verses written by the American poet Ogden Nash (1902-1971) for each movement of the orchestral suite are recited by Jimmy Fallon, the comedian and presenter of The Tonight Show. The Carnival of the Animals, the "Great Zoological Fantasy" for two pianos and orchestra, was recorded with a star-studded line-up of the Gewandhaus Orchestra and Andris Nelsons, and the project also provided a wonderful opportunity to work with his wife, pianist Gina Alice. "Many of us remember the famous Carnival of the Animals from our childhood. There are a lot of clever ideas behind all the fun," says the pianist.
