The folks at Big Crown Records are always sitting on a handful of unreleased songs that for one reason or another didn't make it onto albums.

Looking back at these gems, they decided to start a new series called Big Crown Vaults, and the first installment features Lee Fields & The Expressions.

The songs were recorded during the sessions for the last two albums "Special Night" and "It Rains Love". Listening to these tracks, you can imagine how difficult some of these decisions were to leave them off the albums in the first place.

An absolute highlight is "Regenerate," a song that finds Lee in the realm of country-soul, a style in which Mr. Fields, who hails from North Carolina, thrives. The song begins with a drumbeat and then segues into a chorus featuring El Michels, Paul & Big Bill Schalda belting out a catchy tune.
