Their attention to musical detail combined with the heavenly vocal harmonies of Alan Sparhawk and Mimi Parker (R. I.P.) are perfectly matched to traditional Christmas songs like "Silent Night" and more modern tunes like "Blue Christmas".

"Christmas" features a selection of holiday songs, including four original compositions by the band, most of which were recorded at Low's studio 20§ Below in Duluth, MN. "If You Were Born Today" and "Blue Christmas" were released as 7-inch singles on the UK's Wurlitzer Jukebox label in 1997, while "Taking Down The Tree" was taken from a 1998 compilation of live recordings released by Dutch radio station VPRO.
