Irish composer and songwriter Lōwli prepares to release her beautifully brooding debut album Window in the Woods on 24th October 2025 via Veta Records.

An introspective cycle, the album depicts a journey of processing a difficult experience within your own mind and what this can feel like. A balance of dark and light is present throughout the music, implying that these cycles are continuous and unpredictable throughout our lives. Lōwli’s hypnotic vocal soars effortlessly over tracks such as Undone and Ground Above You, whilst elegant piano tones and solemn strings are at the forefront on instrumental tracks such as Lament and Islands Are Falling. Fans of the likes of Agnes Obel and Nils Frahm will feel at home here.

The majority of the album was recorded in Treehouse Studios, Co. Wicklow. The acoustic piano is a constant presence, connecting all the other sounds and creating a steady momentum. Recorded on a 1920’s Forster upright, the piano is authentic and imperfect. Combined with cinematic strings, haunting vocals, atmospheric percussion and ambient soundscapes, neo-classical influences are met with atmospheric dark-pop, creating something evocatively beautiful as a result.
