For the third installment of the acclaimed science fiction series TRON, Nine Inch Nails was the perfect band to set the futuristic computer saga to music. At the same time, "TRON: Ares (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack)" represents a small comeback for the industrial pioneers around Trent Reznor.

It is the first new music from Nine Inch Nails in five years and the first soundtrack that Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross have delivered together under their band name. As a duo, however, the two have an impressive soundtrack history: their previous soundtracks for films such as "The Social Network" (2010), "Soul" (2020) and "Challengers" (2024) have won two Oscars, three Golden Globes, an Emmy and a Grammy, among others.

Now the two are following in the footsteps of Daft Punk for "TRON: Ares", who composed the acclaimed music for its predecessor "TRON: Legacy". And once again, the background music perfectly matches the breathtaking visuals of this visionary sci-fi epic. Classic Nine Inch Nails breakers such as the first single "As Alive As You Need Me To Be" flow seamlessly into atmospheric instrumentals. The 24 tracks develop a hypnotic mood that loses none of its effect even when detached from the movie.
