Vinyl of the new RZA LP, which he produced in collaboration with DJ Scratch under his own Bobby Digital Production persona. By 1998, RZA had already cemented his status as the man behind the controls of the Wu-Tang Clan by producing all of the group's solo albums. But when it came to his own breakthrough, the producer decided to introduce the world to Bobby Digital, a cartoonishly hedonistic, crazy-rapping alter ego who grew so attached to him that he released another album under that name before finally releasing Birth of a Prince as RZA in 2003. Now Bobby Digital seems to be back on the scene, possibly coming to terms with his host. On Friday, RZA announced a new album, RZA vs. Bobby Digital, with the release of a new single, "Saturday Afternoon Kung Fu Theater," that packs a punch According to a press release, the album is produced by DJ Scratch. "Giving Scratch the reins as a producer and me as an MC gives me creative freedom and lets me play more with lyrical gags and lyrical flows because I don't have to focus on everything," the producer said in a statement. The new single is Bobby Digital's second release this year, following "Pugilism," which was supposed to appear on the long-announced project The Cure, but is apparently part of another upcoming collection of songs under the name Digital Potions.
