Átta, released in 2023, was Sigur Rós's first album in a decade and marked the return of keyboardist Kjartan Sveinsson. Recorded with the London Contemporary Orchestra, it trades the band's thunderous crescendos for slow-moving, string-laden beauty. Jónsi's ethereal falsetto floats over vast, glacial soundscapes, creating a deeply calming and moving listening experience. A gorgeous late-career statement from the Icelandic band, essential for fans of ambient and post-rock.
