So now it's back to rock and pop, with ten new songs. A first proof of this theory was already available at the beginning of September with the single "I Can't Stop Thinking About You". And it shows that the Brit has lost neither his talent nor his power after all these years.
On the contrary: Sting shows himself more varied than ever, and so there is a mix of pop, folk and lots of rock on "57th & 9th".
For the recording of the new album, Sting moved to New York, where he received support from some well-known musician colleagues, including his longtime comrades-in-arms Dominic Miller (guitar) and Vinnie Colaiuta (drums), drummer Josh Freese (Nine Inch Nails, Guns n' Roses), guitarist Lyle Workman and the Tex-Mex band The Last Bandoleros. The record was produced by US songwriter and music producer Martin Kierszenbaum, who has worked for artists such as Leslie Feist, Lady Gaga and Alexandra Burke.
